The position of EXPRESS RENTAL CENTER ASSCOCIATE (ERCA) is responsible for following all administrative and operational processes to transact rental equipment to our customers. This role will assist in the operation of an Express Rental Center (ERC) location and will provide basic operations training on the proper usage of equipment. The ERCA will be responsible for preventive maintenance and cleaning of rental equipment prior to and after each rental.


  • Maintains rental readiness of equipment through visual inspection and methodical preventive maintenance to ensure operational safety.
  • Performs troubleshooting involving malfunctioning equipment and makes basic repairs. 
  • Prequalifies customers to ensure they are getting the right tool for their specific job/application.
  • Accurately complete rental contracts including obtaining required signatures.
  • Demonstrate proper and safe equipment operation to customers.
  • Complete proper equipment check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Participate in field and operational training events.
  • Follow established inventory control procedures for parts usage and tracking.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Express Rental Center Manager (ERCM) or authorized personnel.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service and ensure a terrific customer experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to professionally represent CPER and our core values.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 80lbs safely.

Job Requirements


  • Associates Degree or higher preferred, must have High School Diploma or GED / Technical or Trade School
  • One (1) – Three (3) years or more of construction and/or commercial machine equipment.
  • Must have the ability to conduct light area marketing and lead qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues and make minor repairs to equipment.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, doing what is necessary to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with store level and field level colleagues in order to create the best customer experience possible
  • Effective verbal and written communication with managers, customers and peers.
  • Ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances (weather, traffic)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
